What is the best source for building your own solar panels?

I’m interested in building solar panels myself. I don’t have a lot of money to invest, but would like to at least learn about it. Can someone recommend a step by step instruction manual or site that goes into detail?

    A good manual to give you directions on how to build your solar panels can be found at http://howtowindpower.com. This guide book will provide you with the list of materials to purchase, where to purchase them and then how to put it together.

    You said you wanted to learn about it and I think this is one of the best and most popular DIY solar and wind power books I’ve seen.

    Most of the materials can be purchased at a hardware store and yes, you’d want to purchase the photovoltaic cells.

    The best guide to build solar panels really CHEAP and easy is earth4energy. The instructions are based on a step by sep approach. But I would recommend that you go to the site below and see a couple or more very good guides before you make a decision.

    There are some good step by step guides available on the internet, but you have to pay about $30 to $40 to buy one of them. Otherwise, you can search for some free general diagrams.

    If you’re trying to build your own, the only hope if for solar water heating panels. You could build solar electric panels from broken cells, but they wouldn’t last or perform well. If your money is limited, I wouldn’t suggest it.

    I also suggest you avoid any site that asks you to pay for the information.

    The instructables site is good, though. Give that guy best answer!
